Find a friendly key when learning an instrument.

My approach when teaching a student how to play an instrument

is to find a key that is easy to play out of for that particular instrument. Then I

find songs in that key. I also will transpose or change a song to the key I want to teach out of.

When you play a major scale do re mi fa so la ti do the first note names the scale, and

every key is unique by the number of sharps and flats that are in it. The key of C has no sharps or

flats so the major scale in the key of C the notes are C D E F G A B C. So when giving piano lessons this is the best key to start with. You don’t have to worry about those awful black keys haha as much and can concentrate on playing just the white keys. The next key I like when giving piano lessons would be the key of G. The major scale in the key of G would be G A B C D E F# G In this key we just have to keep track of one sharp the F#

In the key of F the major scale would be F G A Bb C D E F. So this would be a friendly key for piano lessons with only the Bb to keep track of.
